From September 2008 we will introduce the newstatutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five. This replaces the Day Care Standards, Birth to Three Matters and Foundation Stage Framework.

The aim is to help young children achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, and achieving economic well-being.
For more information on this you can visit the government website: www.everychildmatters.gov.uk/

We also enjoy our garden, local walks, professional visits from the Fire Brigade, Police , Spanish lessons, music classes and lots more.

Each day at nursery is carefully planned so that activities and routines match the needs of the children in our care… and are FUN!
We pride ourselves on communicating back to you in various ways how your child has spent their day.

For under 3’s activities are guided by the Birth to Three Matters framework that helps carers focus on your child, your child’s needs, the things that your child enjoys doing and how to ensure the time at nursery is happy and productive.

Details of planned activities are displayed in the nursery and you will receive daily feedback as to how your child’s time has been spent. All milestones are monitored, observed and recorded in partnership with parents.

For 3-5 year olds the learning continues through lots of stimulating activities and builds on a child’s enjoyment
to play.
